Hedgerow Management

Hedge laying is the traditional hedgerow management for field and garden hedges. To suit modern requirements and for total privacy, Country Works has developed a hedge laying style that gives the total hedge height of up to 6 foot 6 inches (2 metres).

The hedge laying styles used by Country Works are the 'Sussex Bullock' hedge, for hedges up to 5'6" and the 'Sussex Six-Footer' hedge for hedges up to 6'6". Why hedge laying? The benefits of laying a hedge are numerous. They include:
  • Increased privacy.
  • Dog-proofing of hedge.
  • Stock proofing of a hedge.
  • Thickening of a gappy hedge.
  • Thinning of a thick hedge.
  • Makes maintenance easier.
  • Improves look of property.
  • Can be deer proof.
  • Increases wildlife.
  • Ideal for over grown and problem hedges.
Country Works also deal with problem Leylandii, give advice and mediation on nuisance hedges, and the new hedge law.
